Do as I Am: Micah 6:8

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8 NIV

He has told you, O mortal, what is good;

    and what does the Lord require of you

but to do justice, and to love kindness,

    and to walk humbly with your God?

Micah 6:8 NRSV

But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,

    what God is looking for in men and women.

It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,

    be compassionate and loyal in your love,

And don’t take yourself too seriously—

    take God seriously.

Micah 6:8 The Message

He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you

Except to be just, and to love (and to diligently practice) kindness (compassion),

And to walk humbly with your God (setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness)?

Micah 6:8 Amplified

He has shown you, O man, what is good;

And what does the Lord require of you

But to do justly, To love mercy,

And to walk humbly with your God?

Micah 6:8 New King James

Every time we choose love, grace and humility over our habituated brain reactions we expand our realm of freedom.
