Aligned Psalm 19:14 w/ Beverly Stieger

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight,

O Lord, my [a]strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 New King James Version

May the words of my mouth

and the meditation of my heart

be pleasing to you,

O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 New Living Translation

There’s more: God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure. Otherwise how will we find our way? Or know when we play the fool? Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh! Keep me from stupid sins, from thinking I can take over your work; Then I can start this day sun-washed, scrubbed clean of the grime of sin. These are the words in my mouth; these are what I chew on and pray. Accept them when I place them on the morning altar, O God, my Altar-Rock, God, Priest-of-My-Altar.

The Message Psalm 11-14

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart

    be pleasing in your sight,

Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 NIV

So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts,

and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing,

acceptable before your eyes,

my only Redeemer, my Protector-God.

Psalm 19:14 The Passion Translation

Reflection questions-

What worlds am I creating with my words?

What am I engaging with, contemplating or reflecting upon?

What moves my heart?

What do these things reveal about me/how the Lord sees me?

Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, because they become actions. Watch your actions, because they become habits. Watch your habits, because they become your character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. What we think, we become.
